I hope this will reach someone despite it being so late. Condolences to Dorothea and the rest of the family from the Middletons in England, especially from my mum Pat Middleton, wife of the late Peter Middleton.
I heard of Brian's death via the "Old Ruymian's" (old boys of Chatham House Grammar School). The newsletters and notifications still arrive in my dad's (Peter Middleton) email despite my dad having died over 3 years ago. I usually just delete them but I just happened to open one the other day and someone had notified of Brian's passing and I recognised the name.
I believe my dad went to primary school as well as secondary school with Brian, until Brian moved away. They lost touch for many years then caught up in 2000 I think it was when Brian and Dorothea were over here, and the old school pals were very happy to have rekindled their friendship and kept it going. My dad died in November 2018, having had his health deteriorate considerably during the preceding couple of years (Parkinsons). Kind of comforting to think of the old schoolfriends together again now.
