Ernie Catchlove posted a condolence
Wednesday, April 28, 2021
It is with sadness we heard of the recent passing of Len a dear friend of the Catchlove family. Boyce and Betty our parents struck up an immediate friendship with Len and Phyllis through the Anglican Church community when Dad was posted to Seymour from Queensland as manager of the National Bank. Then after Phyllis died the friendship continued with Len. Boyce and Len both loved to tell a story and Betty and us kids were amused how one would have to hold his tongue while the other was talking. Len’s care and concern for his family when he spoke was always obvious. Len was amazingly fit and would walk everywhere. Although he had diabetes I can’t imagine him ever needing any medication. Boyce got increasingly frail before his passing in 2013 and Len would often help out with the small jobs that were beyond Betty and Boyce and which he was very capable of. This continued after Boyce’s passing up until Betty’s passing in 2016. Len would also pop in having walked to the family house and was always welcome for lunch and a chat. Len you will be sadly missed and our hearts go out to you Annette and David and the extended family. Love from Ernie on behalf of the Catchloves - Jim, Ernie, Sue, Bev and Jen
